Personal Projects

This body of work explores identity, symbolism, and visual language through drawing, motion, and experimentation. I approach each project as part of an ongoing system, where repetition and variation allow forms to evolve over time. Rather than creating isolated pieces, the work builds a personal visual language that extends across different mediums and reflects an ongoing process of exploration.

Sigilsms

Sigilism is an ongoing body of work built through repetition, abstraction, and coded mark-making. I developed this system as a way to construct a personal visual language, where each drawing functions as both an individual symbol and part of a larger evolving structure.

The process focuses on variation and accumulation, allowing forms to shift, repeat, and gain meaning over time. Rather than fixed symbols, the sigils operate as flexible elements that adapt across different contexts and mediums. This work forms the foundation of SPYD333R’s visual identity, carrying through both personal and collaborative projects.

Triumph of Surrealism

A series of reinterpretations inspired by a work by Max Ernst, originally rooted in themes of chaos and instability.

I used the composition as a starting point to reflect a period where multiple aspects of my own life felt overwhelming and disjointed.

Through colour variation and repetition, the piece shifts from historical reference into something more personal.

The work captures a sense of pressure, confusion, and emotional intensity, where everything feels like it is colliding at once.

Naked and Afraid

A drawing and motion piece depicting a nude figure in a gas mask holding a shotgun, caught in a moment of tension while looking over his shoulder. The imagery combines protection and exposure, where the gas mask and weapon suggest preparation for impact, yet the body remains completely vulnerable.

The work was created during a period of heightened anxiety, reflecting a constant sense of anticipation and uncertainty. This is reinforced through animation, where the figure breathes continuously, emphasizing a nervous, unstable state. A layered forest background with depth further situates the figure in an environment that feels immersive but unclear, adding to the sense of unease.

The piece explores the contradiction of trying to protect oneself while feeling exposed, capturing a state of fear, tension, and emotional vulnerability.

I LUV MY FRIENDS

A line of bears dance hand in hand carefree. The simplicity of the figures carries a kind of playful, almost childlike vibe but grounded in something real.

This piece is a direct expression of gratitude. It marks a moment of clarity where love for the people around me feels undeniable and worth saying out loud. There’s no irony here, just a proud acknowledgment that the people in my life have shaped who I am.

“I Luv My Friends” reflects connection as something sustaining. The kind of bond that keeps you moving, keeps you grounded, and reminds you that you’re not building yourself alone.

Primal Lobotomy

A saber-toothed tiger skull tears through another skull beneath it, frozen in a moment of violent instinct. The composition collapses the boundary between attacker and victim, suggesting they are one and the same.

This piece explores self-hate as something primal and self-inflicted, an internal force that doesn’t just wound, but devours. The exaggerated aggression of the tiger becomes a metaphor for intrusive thought patterns, where identity turns against itself in cycles of destruction. It reflects a state where the mind becomes both predator and prey, driven by impulses that feel ancient, automatic, and difficult to escape.

“Primal Lobotomy” captures the brutality of that internal conflict, where self-perception is shaped and eroded by forces within. What's left behind is something hollowed, yet still conscious of its own undoing.

I LUV MY FRIENDS

Two knights move along the same staircase in opposite directions. One climbs upward with his sword raised, pushing forward into the unknown. Above him, another descends, carrying a shield marked haters, sneak dissers, doubters, losers, intercepting what comes their way.

Progress and resistance exist at the same time. The lower knight represents ambition and forward motion, while the upper knight absorbs negativity, clearing the path. Together, they create a system of protection and growth.

This piece reflects uncertainty without fear. Not knowing where things are going, but trusting the process because you’re not facing it alone. There’s a quiet confidence in that, movement without direction, but never without support.

“Dunno Where I’m Going” is about coming up anyway, because the people around you make the climb possible.
